Good WatchA program of The Good Foundation

The house

On watch for the department

Assigned capacity.

Good Watch is The Good Foundation’s fire-service division: apparatus readiness with evidence before the tones, and training that compounds through after-action — at risk-intel and excellence standards departments can stand on.

A program of The Good Foundation · No invoice · Agency keeps the data · Humans keep the decisions

Bay-truth. Drill-transfer.

Fire departments do not need another dashboard or another hours factory. They need assigned capacity that tells the truth about the iron and makes drills transfer.

Good Watch ships two instruments: Engine Insights (bay-truth) and Training Lift (drill-transfer). AI drafts; officers approve. We leave if the numbers do not move.

The build discipline is the same sealed-score, agent-fleet rigor used for serious risk systems — pointed at the bay, never mid-incident command theater, never a data capture for someone else’s product.

You keep the data. You keep the decisions. We stay on watch — or we leave.

How it is paid

Foundation-underwritten. No invoice to the department.

The Good Foundation underwrites days 1–90 of each engagement — instruments, AI guidance, and implementation included. The department is not billed. Day 90 is expand, pause, or end on written gates.

  • 01

    Instruments

Engine Insights board, Training Lift studio, chief digest cadence.

  • 02

    AI guidance

How sealed scores, evidence flags, and human gates work — what to approve, what to kill.

  • 03

    Implementation

We stand the board and loops up with your champions — week-0 baseline through first AAR→drill links — not a PDF left in the bay.

Two instruments

What we stay on watch for.

  1. 01

    Engine Insights

The iron tells the truth before the tones.

    Checks · defects · PM · evidence-backed flags

Apparatus board with why, not vibes. Critical defects age in the open. “In service” cannot hide paper. Every insight cites evidence or it does not ship.

  2. 02

    Training Lift

Drills raise the floor. AARs become the next drill.

Scenarios · objectives · AAR → next drill

Scenario studio with human approval. Drill runner that measures objectives, not LMS hours. Structured after-action that compounds across shifts — without HR punishment theater.

The bar

Risk-intel discipline. Fire-service excellence.

We borrow the habits of serious risk systems — sealed scoring, replayable inputs, claim ceilings, human gates — and refuse the habits that get people hurt: mid-incident AI dependency, vanity metrics, and vendor lock that holds dispatch hostage.

  • Sealed scores

Readiness ranks use explicit rules and hashed inputs. Replayable. No vibe scores.

  • Evidence or silence

If an insight cannot cite a check, defect, or date, it does not appear.

  • Human on the stick

No auto-OOS. No auto-run scenarios. Officers approve what matters.

  • Claim ceiling

Digests and copy cannot assert beyond evidence. Marketing cannot invent a fireground duty.

  • Agency custody

Export anytime. Delete on exit. Ops data does not feed Institute research or Entropy Index product.

  • Leave if useless

Day 90: written expand, pause, or end on the gates below. Friendship does not override the scoreboard.

What it means on the floor.

If they cannot see themselves here, we have not earned the meeting.

The first ninety days

    Designate

Chief names training and apparatus champions. Signed data rules. No press without written OK.

  2. 02

    Bay truth

Apparatus board live on manual checks. Week-0 baseline: check completion and critical-defect age.

  3. 03

    Training lift

Skill honesty for at least one company, approved scenarios, AAR → drill loops closed.

Physical training-site builds are a separate civic conversation when they exist. Good Watch is the product rail — readiness and training intelligence — judged on its own scoreboard.

How to start

Ninety days. Named champions. Family-funded.

If you are fire chief or command staff, email tg@taylorgood.com with: (1) department name, (2) your role and phone, (3) named training champion, (4) named apparatus champion. The Foundation underwrites days 1–90 including AI guidance and implementation — no invoice to the department. Day 90 is expand, pause, or end on the gates above.

For chiefs/command: we follow up to collect department, role, phone, and two champions. Privacy
